A fresh start, not to mention a fresh lick of paint. To say all of us at McCann Dublin are excited about moving into our new HQ is a bit of an understatement! It is the beginning of something new and the perfect place to continue our creative story. We wanted to find somewhere that reflected both Dublin’s history, and our place today on the world stage. A blank canvas that will be the foundation for a unique creative environment. A place where we can design, imagine, collaborate, drink coffee and fight over who has control of the music! A place that we’d all be proud to call home.
The Sixty-One in the heart of the Liberties is where we now call home! A building steeped in history and heritage. We fell in love with the building’s story, which dates back to the 1600s when it was one of Dublin’s finest purpose-built inns, The Golden Last. The historical fabric of the original building has been preserved, dated and documented, and the 4,000 artifacts uncovered by a full archaeological excavation are now safely with the National Museum.
Now complete, The Sixty-One is a beautifully restored Category A building for the digital age. The Sixty-One was designed by Dublin architects Laurence and Long, and the project was underpinned by a careful and sensitive approach combining sustainable technologies and use of quality building materials. Particular emphasis was placed on exploiting daylight and natural ventilation to promote wellbeing and reduce energy dependency. It’s now our turn to add to the building impressive history. And the third floor is all ours!
The Sixty One is our blank canvas that will allow us to create a truly inspirational workspace. Our new office means far more to us as an agency than just a physical space. It’s a place of creativity, it is a space to grow, and an environment to nurture our already amazing talent. The kitchen is pretty cool too! We’ve designed the interior to encourage collaboration and celebrate creativity, with distinct open plan areas for brainstorming, meetings, social areas, break-out spaces and an all-hands event space.
We are counting down the days to officially getting into the new office and working together face to face! And not through a screen. We are also looking forward to introducing ourselves to our new neighbours and becoming part of the Thomas Street culture. And when it is safe to do so, our doors will be open for you to drop in for a chat and have a look around. We’d love to see you.
