D&AD, Beck’s and McCann

It’s that time of year again, when creatives from around the world flock to the streets of Brick Lane London to bask in the glow, creativity and inspiration that oozes from the walls of D&AD. This year McCann Dublin was lucky enough to be a part of it with Beck’s beer.

The three-day long festival has been celebrating and inspiring a community of creative thinkers, doers and makers and uplifting the finest in design and advertising since 1962. As a non-profit advertising and design association, D&AD strives to motivate the next generation of creative talent and encourages our industry to work towards a fairer and more sustainable future. The vibrant community that D&AD has nurtured has grown immensely over the years and the festival has contributed decades of hard work, inspiration and support to the creative industry we live and work in.

Once again D&AD created a line-up of speakers, workshops, masterclasses, debates and talks that were inspiring, thought-provoking and quite simply wonderful. From Professor Green, to conversations with Danny Boyle, Typeface workshops to UX Crafts, embracing the world of design, advertising, fashion, film, there is was an abundance of activities to witness.

This year we were able to contribute to the festival with our client Beck’s. Our D&AD activation was centred around the idea that “Without you it’s just a blank wall”. We brought strangers together, sparking conversation and connection in a playful and interactive space that encouraged attendees to take a seat and have a doodle date, giving them the opportunity to spin a Beck’s bottle and five minutes to doodle the person it pointed towards. We pinned all of the doodles to our Beck’s wall, making it Legendary.
